OYO AYYCW COMMENDS OYO GOVERNMENT, ASK TO CREATE SPECIFIC BUDGET LINE FOR YOUTHS

A Yoruba sociocultural group, Alliance of Yoruba Youths Council Worldwide Oyo Chapter has urged the state government to create specific budget line for youths in the state.

Addressing newsmen in Oyo on Wednesday, the Chairman of Alliance of Yoruba Youths Council Worldwide (AYYCW) in Oyo State, Comrade Adedokun Sunday Harshasha, said that state government should intensify its efforts in alleviating poverty in the state by including specific budgetary for the youths in the state.

Adedokun, who said youths are the bedrock of any state appreciated the Governor of Oyo state for giving youths opportunity to serve major roles in his administration.

“We want the Governor to intensify more efforts in budgeting for youths in the state. The government should facilitate more empowerments that can help our graduates,provide more jobs so as to reduce criminality in the state.”

“An idle mind is devil’s workshop, if our government can create more job opportunities for the youths we will definitely have a peaceful state. We can engage our youths in various departments where there skills and talents can be useful to the growth of the state.”

“We are appealing to our Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde to continue with his good intentions of developing the state. There’s no doubt our amiable Governor is doing well at the moment, we want him to continue in that part of progress he has orchestrated”, the Chairman added.
