Yuletide: Ibarapa kan, Demola Ojo, Traditional rulers rallies Sola Adeleke at Grand finale of Children’s Festive Funfair in Ibarapa Central
Member, Ibarapa Central and North federal constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adepoju, Oyo State Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matter, Hon. Ademola Ojo, Ibarapa Central Local Government Traditional council and PDP party leaders on Sunday 22nd December, 2024 joined the 2024 Children’s Christmas Funfair in Ibarapa Central Local Government organised by the first family of the Council, Hon. and Mrs Sola Adeleke.
In a release signed by the personal assistant to the executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Sodiq Adesina, the 3 day long program which commenced on Friday, 20th December, came to a successful conclusion, with unforgettable memories for children and their families numbering thousand.
The event according to the release was Organised to spread joy, educate children and foster unity in the community during the festive season.
In his remarks, Hon. Adeleke called for a moment of silence in honor of the departed souls who lost their lives in a tragic Christmas party incident in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. He emphasized the importance of creating a safer and more vibrant environment for children in Ibarapa Central, stating:
“Our aim is to make Ibarapa Central better than we met it, and seeing our children filled with excitement and joy is a testament to that vision.”
The chairman stressed that the event was not only a celebration but also an effort to educate the children of Ibarapa Central, showcasing that the opportunities and experiences of the city can be replicated in Igboora. He assured attendees that plans for next year funfair are already underway, promising a bigger and more impactful event.
Hon. Adeleke equally calls on businesses and organizations to partner with the local government in future editions, saying, “We will need partnerships that can promote and showcase their businesses while supporting and educating our children.”
Hon. Adeleke in his appreciation note, expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for granting him the opportunity to serve the good people of Ibarapa Central; Hon. Ademola Obafemi Ojo, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, for recognizing his leadership potential and supporting his journey as the Executive Chairman and Hon. Adebayo Anthony, for his relentless efforts in human development, particularly in facilitating employment opportunities that have positively impacted the constituency.
The event, which spanned three days, brought immense joy to children through free gifts, snacks, drinks, and entertainment, while parents and guardians also felt the love and unity fostered by the initiative.
Adequate security and medical personnel were fully on ground to ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees throughout the event.
Hon. Adeleke equally used the occasion to reaffirm his commitment to the welfare of Ibarapa Central residents and vowed to continue implementing policies and programs that uplift the community:
“We will continue to bring city-level experiences to our people and create moments that will last a lifetime,” he concluded.
