COURT ORDERED ISKILU WAKILI TO PRESENT WITNESSES, AS THE WARLORD CLAIMS INNOCENT

The Oyo State High Court sitting in Igboora has ordered the suspected fulani warlord and his gang claimed to be terrorising Ibarapa zone in Oyo State to present their witnesses at the next adjournement as the leader of the suspects, Iskilu Wakili told the Court he is innocent of the five count charges against them.

It will be recalled that on 4th March, 2021, Iskilu Wakili, Sumaila Wakili, Ali Wakili , Abu Wakili, Uman Wakili and gang were alleged to have barricaded Tapa – Igangan express road, where they were arrested for robbery, killing and kidnapping after several attempts resulting in a gun battle with local security agents.

In the same vein, on 1st March, 2021 around Baba Gbawu Village, Tapa in Ibarapa North Local Government, Wakili and his gang were alleged to have kidnapped one Kayode Abilawon after which ransom of money was forcefully collected from his family before his release.

On 15th July, 2020, at about 5pm, Wakili and his gang were alleged to have kidnapped a woman named Yemisi Okediran along Ayete – Tapa expressroad, and ransom of money was equally forcefully collected from her family.

After reading the 5 count charges by the trial Judge, as monitored by Asako news, Wakili and his gang quickly responded that they are not guilty of the charges and innocent as there is no prove that established the alleged criminal claims.

Base on this, the trial Judge ordered the suspects to present all their witnesses at the next adjournment fixed for 18th January, 2024.
