COMMUNITY APPRECIATE GOV. MAKINDE AS OBATADE IS INSTALLED THE NEW ONIMELEKE OF IMELEKE IN IBARAPA CENTRAL LOCAL GOVERNMENT, IGBOORA, OYO STATE.

A historical town (Imeleke) in Ibarapa Central Local Government area of Oyo State has shown their appreciations to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Eng. Seyi Makinde for giving formal approval to the nomination of Chief Surajudeen Babatunde Obatade as the new ONIMELEKE of Imeleke in Ibarapa land.

Earlier to the traditional Installation of the new ONIMELEKE of Imeleke on Thursday, 16th November 2023, the approval letter was formally presented to the ONIMELEKE ELECT through the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Adedoyin Adeoye who admonished His Highness the new ONIMELEKE to use the traditional status towards maintenance of peace and socio – economic development of his Community, the Local Government and Oyo State.

Traditional Installation of the new ONIMELEKE with Akoko leaves was performed at the Owuruntu family compound, Pako, Igboora by the Ashipa of Imeleke, Chief Banmore and was witnessed with funfair by many indegenes of Imeleke and Igboora town.

Speaking at the Installation ceremony, a frontline leader of the community, Architect Saubana Obatade appreciated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Eng. Seyi Makinde for standing on the truth of the aged long tradition of Imeleke town. He traced back the history of Imeleke as a historical and formidable Warrior Community from The Orile Imeleke in Oyo town before settling in a vast forest that now shares boundary with the present Ogun State. It was war that later dispersed the town into Pako, Iberekodo, Igbole, Idofin and Saganuun of present Igboora in Ibarapa Central Local Government. He used the opportunity to call on all good indigenes of the Imeleke, home and abroad, to come back and rally round the new ONIMELEKE to rebuild a more formidable ancestral home.

The new ONIMELEKE, His Highness Surajudeen Babatunde Obatade who rose from OTUN ONIMELEKE, was full of joy, appreciated the Oyo State government, kingmakers, his entire family and the good people of Imeleke for the love and confidence reposed in him; he concluded by soliciting for more love and support for a more formidable town under his kingdom.

Dignitaries at the Installation included Imeleke chiefs, Chief Salaudeen Olaoye, Alhaji Olaniyi Obatade, Hon. Adeniyi Adetona, Chief Ibrahim Okedele, Chief Jamiyu Onilado Imeleke, Omooba Taye Adeyemo, Baale Abaaka, Ogun State, Baale Gege, Oyo State,Old students of Igboora High school 1993 Sets and representatives of Security agencies among others.
