HON. OLUSOLA ADELEKE RALLIES SECURITY FORCES, TRADITIONAL RULERS TO TACKLE CRIME AHEAD OF EID-EL-FITR
In a proactive move to bolster security and sustain peace in Ibarapa Central, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Olusola Adeleke, convened a high-level Peace and Security Meeting on Friday, March 28, 2025, to address escalating security concerns in the local government.
The crucial meeting, attended by security agencies, traditional rulers, and key stakeholders, focused on urgent issues such as kidnapping, teenage drug abuse, and the rise of cultism in secondary schools.
In a statement released by his Personal Assistant, Azeez Sodiq Adesina, Hon. Adeleke challenged security agencies to take decisive action and implement concrete solutions to curb these threats. He underscored the need for collaboration and prompt intervention, particularly as the Eid-el-Fitr festivities approach, ensuring residents can celebrate in a safe and peaceful atmosphere.
“Security is a collective responsibility, and we must all rise to the occasion. As we prepare for Eid-el-Fitr, it is crucial that we intensify efforts to rid our communities of crime and all forms of insecurity. I urge our security agencies to take decisive action to protect the lives and property of our people,” he stated.
The meeting saw the participation of the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Nigeria Army, Amotekun, local vigilante groups, and other security networks. All parties reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring safety across Ibarapa Central.
Traditional rulers played a key role in the discussions, providing valuable insights and pledging their full support in fostering peace within their respective communities.
Hon. Adeleke reassured residents of his administration’s unwavering commitment to security and community development, vowing to continue working closely with security agencies and stakeholders to create a safer and more prosperous environment for all.
With a reinforced focus on strengthening security measures and enhancing collaboration between government and community leaders, the resolutions from this meeting mark a significant step towards safeguarding the future of Ibarapa Central Local Government.
