OLUSEGUN OKANLAWON HONORED WITH SEA COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD FOR TRANSFORMATIVE CONTRIBUTIONS
Ambassador Engr. Dr. Olusegun Okanlawon, Founder and Chairman of the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF), has been honored with the Solitary Evolution Academy (SEA) Community Impact Award in recognition of his significant contributions to humanitarian and philanthropic initiatives in Oyo State.
The prestigious award was presented during the Ibarapa GenZ Conference held on December 26, 2024 at Igboora High School hall, Igboora, an event organized by SEA, a non-profit organization committed to empowering teenagers and youth through self-development, confidence-building, and success-driven programs.
Okanlawon’s impactful gesture of donating ₦500,000 to a young, promising writer discovered by the conference convener was highlighted as a testament to his dedication to nurturing creativity and intellectual growth. The support aims to help the talented writer publish her numerous unpublished literary works.
In his acceptance speech, Okanlawon expressed gratitude to SEA for recognizing his efforts. He commended the organization’s founder, Mrs. Bola Akinteye, for her relentless passion for youth development, describing the initiative as a remarkable platform for community growth and teen emancipation.
“The merit award speaks volumes of SEA’s commitment to teens’ academic growth and development. I appreciate everyone contributing to this noble goal. In synergy, I decided to support a young, determined writer with ₦500,000 to help her publish her stories. Her dedication deserves to be celebrated and supported,” he stated.
He further called on other well-meaning individuals to join hands in empowering communities through moral, financial, and intellectual investments, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in building future leaders.
The SEA Community Impact Award celebrates Okanlawon’s pivotal role in youth empowerment, job creation, scholarships, mentorship, and sports development in the Ibarapa zone.
Mrs. Bola Akinteye, the convener of the Ibarapa GenZ Conference, also lauded Okanlawon’s unwavering support for community initiatives, describing his efforts as inspirational and transformative.
The event ended on a high note as attendees commended SEA’s initiative of recognizing community champions and encouraged the youth to maximize opportunities for personal and communal growth.
