IGBO-ORA COMMUNITIES DEMAND JUSTICE AS JUDGES CITE SECURITY CONCERNS FOR ABSENCE

In Igbo-Ora, known globally as the World Twins Capital, the persistent absence of magistrates and high court judges from their desks has become a pressing concern for the local population. Citing security reasons, these judges have consistently refused to attend court sessions, forcing residents to travel to Ibadan for hearings and other legal matters.

Despite the Igbo-Ora community’s raising millions of Naira to renovate the two courts, the security concerns remain unaddressed. Alhaji Hassan Alabi Okunade, a retired Permanent Secretary from Oyo State and patriotic leader in the community, has urged royal fathers and community elders to resolve this issue. He suggests involving the newly posted Commissioner of Police to reinforce security measures for the honourable Justices.

Alhaji Okunade also questions whether this issue is isolated to the Ibarapa Zone, as there have been no reports of similar challenges in the Oyo, Ogbomoso, Iseyin, and Saki judiciaries. He stresses the urgency of taking positive actions to address the security challenges and restore justice for the people of Igbo-Ora.

The community calls for immediate and effective solutions to ensure the presence of judges in Igbo-Ora, thereby upholding the rule of law and providing much-needed relief to the local populace.
