Ibarapakan rolls out UTME forms to constituents, priorities physically challenged

In his bid to complement efforts of the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde, in enhancing the standard of education in the state, the House of Representatives member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has rolled out free UTME forms for prospective candidates in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas of Oyo State.

It will be recalled that the UTME registration for the year 2024 commenced on January 15, 2024, with a deadline fixed for February 26, 2024.

Announcing the free UTME scholarship through a statement made available to Asako news by his media aide, Hassan Olaoniye, dated Saturday, January 27, 2024, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adepoju said the selection of the proposed candidates will be transparently carried out in each of the five towns that make up the federal constituency.

According to him, a group of committed individuals is being set up to conduct an aptitude test for prospective candidates across each town in the federal constituency on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Hon. Adepoju stated that aside from successful candidates selected through the test, he had also reserved UTME forms for the physically challenged community.

Speaking further, the lawmaker emphasised that qualified candidates from the test, including all other candidates in the constituency, will undergo free UTME tutorial session specifically targeted at improving scores and performance before the commencement of the 2024 UTME examination. He added that experienced and diligent teachers are already being engaged to take the candidates on different subjects to enable them to come out in flying colours.

“The initiative will run concurrently with the ongoing school year calendar without any overlap,” he expressed.

Ibarapakan said each community in the constituency will have a tutorial centre with the necessary facilities to achieve the purpose of the exercise.

The lawaker promised to give opportunity for qualified applicants to undergo practical CBT simulation experience on how to answer computer-based tests to prevent poor performance and make the candidates more acquainted with the system used by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

According to him, the scholarship is open to students within the constituency, as money will be refunded to whoever has purchased purchased the form, and passed the proposed aptitude test.
