IBARAPA PHILANTHROPIST, OLUSEGUN OKANLAWON, BECOMES AFRICAN UNION AGENDA 2063 AMBASSADOR

Founder and Chairman of the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF), Engr. Dr. David Olusegun Okanlawon, has been officially inducted into the prestigious Ambassadorial Assembly of the African Union (AU) Agenda 2063.

The announcement was made in a press release issued on Saturday, December 14, 2024, by Comrade Adedokun Sunday Harshasha, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the newly inducted ambassador. The release highlighted the assembly’s core mission of advocating for policies and technological advancements aimed at driving Africa’s sustainable economic growth and global competitiveness.

Recognized for his exceptional achievements and leadership qualities, Okanlawon will now champion the AU Agenda 2063 Framework, a roadmap for creating “the Africa we want.” With this appointment, he joins a distinguished group of Pan-African leaders working toward the continent’s development.

“From today, he will be addressed as Ambassador Engr. Dr. David Olusegun Okanlawon,” the statement noted.

The Ambassadorial Assembly of AU Agenda 2063 is an influential diplomatic platform that enlists notable individuals to represent Africa’s interests on the global stage. The official Ambassadorial Certificate, signed by Ambassador Stephen Gbatigbi Ben-Joel (Head of Mission and Deputy Secretary-General) and H.E. Amb. Prof. Tunji John Asaolu (Special Envoy to the AU), was presented on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

Ambassador Okanlawon is the visionary behind the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation, a non-governmental organization committed to restoring hope to the underprivileged. He also serves as the Managing Director of Luli Construction Company and 04 Multipurpose Unique Concept Limited, further cementing his reputation as a leader and humanitarian.
