The candidate of Labour party in the forthcoming local government election for Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Bolanle Adepoju has allayed the fear of not winning the contest having come from Labour Party which is not ruling the State or Nigeria, citing the influence of coming from Igangan town with the largest number of electoral wards in Ibarapa North Local Government.

Hon. Bolanle who was the only candidate that featured on the 2024 Asako Radio/Tv political debate on Saturday, 13th April 2024 at Igboora, lamented the poor state of infrastructure in Ibarapa North, most especially in the Villages. According to him:

“Our people are suffering, most importantly in terms of water. An average person in Ibarapa North spends nothing less than six thousand naira (#6000) on water monthly with average of two hundred naira (#200) daily.

“Our health care facilities are very poor and not accessible, most especially in our Villages. No housing facilities for health workers and drugs are not available.

“Our farmers lack modern equipment, seedlings and funds to operate. No profitable markets for farmers as all link roads are so poor.

“Entrepreneurial schemes are not feasible. All these areas my government shall address once I emerge as the next Chairman, Ibarapa North Local Government by God’s grace”.

While asked about his chance of winning an incumbent local government Chairman, Hon. Bolanle said:

“I thank the Governor of Oyo State, Eng. Seyi Makinde for promising a level playing ground for the coming election. This is the first time we are having elections with each of the communities that made up the local government having candidates in different three parties. I am from Igangan, with five wards out of the ten wards. Tapa has two and half wards, Ayete has two and half wards. This is the time for Igangan to attain mantle of leadership of the Local Government. The last time we had was the regime of Hon. Tajudeen Amoo, ever since we have been marginalized. With the support of my people from Igangan, I will emerge as the next local government chairman by God’s grace
