IBARAPA CENTRAL L.G ELECTION: “Play politics with true intention to serve and not to maim or kill”…… Alhaji Okunade appeals to politians

As the long awaited Oyo local government election approaches in Ibarapa Central Local Government, a foremost Igboora Community Patriot and retired permanent secretary in the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, Alhaji Hassan Okunade has appealed to residence of Igboora Community to guide against violence and bloodshed during and after the April 27, 2024 election.

In an appeal message titled: “A NEED FOR CAUTION TO ALL IGBOORA POLITICIANS”, made available to Asako news, the retired administrator warned Igboora Political figures that Drumming drums of war as the Saturday’s Chairmanship election approaches cannot help the cherished root- IGBOORA (as described).

According to Alhaji Okunade:

“Politics must be played with a true intention to serve and not to maim / injure or kill.Every politicians in Igboora must truly and maturely sell his / her manifestos to the electorates. We need not shed blood of our brothers if truly we wanted to serve!

“Political victory shouldn’t be earned on the blood of any Igboorains. Our politicians must note that any political tenure is temporary and transient realising that the post of Permanent Secretary is not even permanent!

“Individuals should come out to exercise their franchise for their interested Political party come this Saturday, 27th April, 2024.

“A true dividend of Democracy can only be enjoyed by the living and not by the dead!

Relating to the current mourning period in respect of the shocking demise of a shining star in the community, Prof. Abiodun Ojo, he concluded:

“As we are mourning the demise of one of our stars, we mustn’t allow any devilish tendencies overcome us again. Let us all reflect on the genuine progress and development of our root- IGBOORA.”
