The candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming local government election in Ibarapa Central Local Governmen, Hon. Adeleke Ayodele Olusola (Solar), has assured the people of Ibarapa Central Local Government of good governance and all inclusive administration if voted for, in the forthcoming local government election.

In an interview with Asako news, the young politician highlighted how his past experience as a major stakeholder in local government administration will proactively assist him in bringing innovation to the development of the council, having served as personal assistant to a former local government chairman for several years.

According to Solar:

“I have a lot of developmental plans for the local government, but permit me to say this, you know as a personal assistant to one of the best local government chairman in Ibarapa Central Local Government ever had, Otunba Ademola Obafemi Ojo which we learnt so much from. I can categorically say I have better idea about running of local government. They say experience is the best teacher, with the experience I got from my Boss, Otunba Ojo, which by God’s grace will help in the transformation of Ibarapa Central Local Government when I am elected as the next Executive Chairman.

Responding to his view on local government autonomy generally believed to hindering local government administration in Nigeria, he technically viewed it as a challenge, but promised to look inward in boosting the Internally Generated Revenue of the Local Government to address financial crisis.

“Local Government autonomy can only be addressed by the National Assembly. Yes, it has really slow down the development in the local government administration. The onus lies so much on the National and State House of Assembly. Except for direct allocation into the purse of Local Governments, its sustainability is questionable, but by and large, my administration will look inward on how we can generate income through an improved IGR.

“We shall make agricultural practices more convenience and affordable. We will provide farming inputs at subsidized rate and at the same time market the products for farmers. We will provide the market for farmers and create for them an enabling environment to explore.

“We shall have the data base of our farmers” he concluded.
