HON. OLUSOLA ADELEKE JOINS THE GRAND FINALE OF IJAYA FOOTBALL COMPETITION

The Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Olusola Adeleke, on Friday, 29th November 2024, joined other personalities to attend the grand finale of the IJAYA Football Competition held in Ibarapa North Local Government.

In a statement made available to Asako news , dated 29th November as signed by Azeez Sodiq Adesina, personal assistant to the executive chairman, Ibarapa Central Local Government, the event organized by Hon. Sefiu Rasaki, councilor representing ward 4, Isale Akaoo Igangan, Ibarapa North local government, who also double as the Director of Smart Foundation showcased the best of local football talent in a thrilling final match between Victory FC of Igangan and Anderlecht FC of Tapa community, held at Oke Aako High school .

The competition tagged ‘IJAYA Football Competition’ in honor of Hon. Ademola Obafemi Ojo, the Honorable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in Oyo State has been a symbol of unity and talent discovery across Ibarapa North.

Anderlecht FC emerged champion in the final match, which was filled with skill and sportsmanship. The Commissioner was ably represented by the Hon. Ademola Adekunle.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Olusola Adeleke commended Hon. Sefiu Rasaki for his vision and effort in organizing such a significant event, emphasizing its role in fostering unity and promoting youth engagement through sports.
According to him:

“This competition is a shining example of how sports can bring people together and inspire our youth to achieve greatness,” he stated.

Hon. Adeleke equally lauded Hon. Ademola Obafemi Ojo for his consistent support for initiatives that uplift the youth and promote community development.

“Hon. Ademola Obafemi Ojo remains a leader and mentor whose impact resonates across all spheres of governance and development,” he added.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Royal majesty King Rafiu Ariwoola Adeniyi (Asigangan of Igangan) Ibarapa North PDP party chairman, Elder Olayiwola Ojoogun, Hon. Yemi Gboyega (Chief of Staff, Ibarapa Central Local Government), Hon. Adeniyi Jelili (Ibarapa North Local Government Supervisory Councillor for youth and sports) and Hon. Rufai Nafiu (Ibarapa North Supervisory Councillor for information, culture and Tourism).

The maiden edition of IJAYA Football Competition has demonstrated the potential of grassroots sports in uniting communities and inspiring the youth.
