FACULTY OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES SHINES AS ADEWOLE OLUWATOBI PETER WINS ORATORY COMPETITION AND HONORED AS A-DAY SUG PRESIDENT AT LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM

On Monday, 19th of August 2024, The Faculty of Environmental Studies took center stage at the Late Adeseun Ogundoyin Leadership Symposium and Academic Summit, as its representative, Adewole Oluwatobi Peter, emerged victorious in the inter-faculty oratory competition. His exceptional performance was further recognized with the prestigious title of A-Day Students’ Union Government (SUG) President.

The symposium, which kicked off the FINAL YEAR BRETHREN event, was a grand affair attended by the institution’s top management, including the Acting Rector, Registrar, Dean of Student Affairs, and Faculty Presidents, alongside Department Presidents. Distinguished guests, including the Chief of Staff representing the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and prominent leaders from the Eruwa community, also graced the occasion.

The oratory competition featured eight talented students, two from each of the four faculties—Faculty of Communication and Management Studies, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Environmental Studies. Adewole Oluwatobi Peter’s compelling speech secured him the first position, making his faculty proud and earning him the honor of being named A-Day SUG President.

In addition to the oratory contest, the event also celebrated academic excellence, with awards presented to the best students from each department. These accolades underscored the institution’s dedication to nurturing and recognizing talent.

As a highlight of the event, an award of honor was presented to the Acting Rector, the Dean of Student Affairs, and the Student Affairs Office in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the institution.

The program was organised by Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, Students’ Union Government, the symposium paid homage to the enduring legacy of the late Adeseun Ogundoyin, emphasizing leadership and community service. The day concluded with a strong sense of pride and anticipation for the continued success of the Final Year Brethren series.
