Condemnations continues trailing on the media links of Asako Radio/tv from viewers who anticipated to hear from candidates vying for local government chairmanship seats in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government area of Oyo State.

The event was organized by the Ibarapa indigenous online radio, ASAKO RADIO/Tv on Saturday 13th April 2024.

The event which had in attendance religious and traditional leaders across the local government left with disappointment seeing politicians hoping to lead their local government avoiding the call of their people.

It will be recalled, prior to the 2023 general elections in Nigeria, Asako Radio/Tv successfully organized political debate for candidates into the office Oyo State House of Assembly and Federal House of Representatives for Ibarapa Central and North Constituency with official launch of the second edition of Asako Magazine. Interactions between members of the constituents and elected Honorable representing Ibarapa Central and North federal constituency, Hon. Dr. Bayo Adepoju who honored and participated at the debate still remained a very good guide in discharge of good dividends to the constituency.

To the disappointment of viewers, only the candidate of Labour Party from Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Bolanle Adepoju was physically present to highlight his programs.

Meanwhile, candidate of Labour Party in the forthcoming local government election in Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Bolanle Adepoju outshines other candidates as he brilliantly made his presentations to the joy of the viewers.

According to Adepoju:

“Who am I not to answer the public call? The Public is higher than any individual, no matter your position”.

Participants following the programs has since been registering their annoyance to the absence of candidates contesting for chairmanship seats in Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Sola Adeleke (PDP) and Hon. Waliu Egunbambi, as Hon. Lateef Akorede (PDP) and Hon. Adeniran (APC) were unavoidably absent for the debate program which according to the organizers, only the PDP aspirants from the two local governments took permission to attend a claimed emergency meeting with the Governor few hours to the commencement of the program.

Here are some of the reactions:

“If at this digital age, candidates still fear political debate, am sorry for future of Ibarapa”……..Anonymous.

“Candidates of the PDP believes the Governor will definitely rig election for them, so they don’t need political debate, at the same time candidates of the are shy of facing the media. I commend the Labour Party Candidate”……….Anonymous.

I commend you for your courage and dedication to the development Ibarapaland. I want to use this medium to remind you that objectivity is key element that promotes a good media outlet. Unbalanced commentaries such ones in bracket should be avoided because in contradicts your claim that the PDP candidates took permission to be absent due to an urgent meeting with their principal. But my findings indicates that they sent representatives.
