AYETE NATIONAL DAY FESTIVAL: WEEK-LONG CELEBRATION KICKS OFF TOMORROW

Ayete town is set to come alive as the highly anticipated Ayete National Day festival begins tomorrow, Sunday, December 1, 2024. The week-long cultural event will commence with a special church service at the Cherubim and Seraphim Church Headquarters, Ayete.

The festivities continue on Monday, December 2, with a press conference and a courtesy visit to the Asawo Palace, showcasing the rich heritage and unity of the community.

Tuesday, December 3, is dedicated to environmental sanitation in the morning, emphasizing cleanliness and sustainability. This will be followed by a vibrant cultural display in the evening, highlighting Ayete’s unique traditions and artistry.

On Wednesday, December 4, the focus will shift to tourism and sports. Attendees will enjoy a guided tour of the scenic Abinuoro Hills in the morning and engage in indoor games in the evening.

Thursday, December 5, promises an enriching experience with a lecture program and a novelty football match, fostering knowledge-sharing and community bonding.

Friday, December 6, will feature spiritual reflections with a Jumat Service at Ayete Central Mosque, uniting the Muslim faithful in prayer and thanksgiving.

The grand finale, set for Saturday, December 7, at Baptist High School, Ayete, by 10:00 am, is poised to be the highlight of the festival. The event will be graced by notable dignitaries and political figures from across Oyo State.

Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS), Chairman/CEO of Ilaji Sports and Resorts, will serve as the Chief Launcher, while Dr. Olusola Ayandele (Eruobodo) will take the role of Chairman of the Day. Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, representing Oyo South Senatorial District, and Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi will be honored as Father and Mother of the Day, respectively.

Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju (Ibarapakan), Member of the House of Representatives for Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency, will attend as Chief Guest of Honor. Other distinguished guests include Hon. Adedeji Stanley Olajide (Odidiomo), representing Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency, and Hon. Peter Gbadegesin Ojedokun, representing Ibarapa Central/North State Constituency in the Oyo House of Assembly, who will be present as Special Guests of Honor.

The Ayete National Day festival promises to be a celebration of culture, unity, and progress, drawing attention to the town’s rich heritage and its aspirations for a brighter future.
