OYSCATECH SET TO PARTNER IBARAPA NORTH ON AGRICULTURAL TRAINING AND RESEARCH

Within a month of their appointment by the Governor of Oyo State and Visitor to the Agricultural base Polytechnic, H.E Eng. Seyi Makinde, the new management of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora under the headship of Prof. Kehinde Akinola Akinlabi paid a familiarisation and courtesy visit to the executive chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Lateef Lawal Akorede on Wednesday 18th January, 2023 in line with their willingness to serve according to the mandate of the institution by seeking for strategic partnership and cooperation with individuals and corporate bodies in the region for speedy development and growth of the institution.

In a short reception held at the executive chamber of the Local Government Chairma, the Polytechnic Rector, Professor Akinola Kehinde Akinlabi in his remarks, entrenched the Institution’s readiness to explore untapped resources within the region for growth and development of the Polytechnic. He also retirated further that management of the institution is eager to provide sufficient Agricultural produce to serve the immediate communities and beyond as a means of boosting the socio economic of the region.

The local government chairman, Hon. Lateef Akorede welcomed the management team on behalf of government and people of Ibarapa North and used the opportunity to share his road map with the readiness to partner with the institution by providing the necessary assistance for the institution to the advantage of improved socio – economic development of the region.


According to the Local Government Boss:

“We will continue to give necessary assistance to the institution within and beyond for the betterment of our communities”.

Hon. Akorede urged the Polytechnic management to look inwardly to explore untapped opportunities within the region for the growth of the institution because Ibarapa is blessed with enormous untapped resources and talents; and also leverage and provide more human capital training and development in order to project the institution for the greater heights so as to make the institution competable among commitess of Polytechnics in Nigeria.

The visitation made a remarkable achievement as both the local government authority and the Polytechnic management inspected the Okungba Dam at Ayete as an instant grant to one the request of the Institution as an enhancement to their Agricultural Training and Research through Irrigation programmes.
