IBEREKODO INDIGENES RALLY SUPPORT TOWARDS PALACE COMPLETION, AS OLU-ASO MARKS 4 YEARS CORONATION

The Oluaso of Iberekodo, Ibarapa Central Local Government, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jamiu Adedamola Badmos today, 28th May 2023 clocks 4 years as a beaded crown Oba. The Oba was crowned formally by the administration of late Governor Abiola Ajimobi and traditionally by the late Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr.) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III at the Oluaso palace ground on Tuesday, 28th May, 2019.

Oba Jamiu Adedamola Badmos, ascended the throne as 9th Baale of Iberekodo on 12th May, 2004, changed the nomenclature of Baale of Iberekodo to Oluaso of Iberekodo on receipt of Instrument of office on 12th May, 2013; by this ascertion, the Oba clocks 19years on the throne and 4years as a beaded crown Oba.

As part of activities marking the 4years coronation, Oba Jamiu Adedamola Badmos and personalities from Iberekodo community used the opportunity to thank all Iberekodo community and well meaning individuals who have been so supportive to the development of the town; they equally appealed for further support for the actualisation of various ongoing developmental projects, most especially the Oluaso Ultra modern palace.

Speaking with Asako news at his palace, Oluaso of Iberekodo, Oba Adedamola Badmos appreciated God for the fulfilling grace granted him for ascending the throne at a young age of 37years. He appreciated his Chiefs, ruling houses, Sons and Daughters of Iberekodo for making the community a pace setter town under his rulership.

According to Oba Badmos :”By the special grace of God, I clocked 19 years on the throne on 12th May, 2023 and today, 28th May, 2023 make 4years I was crowned as Oluaso of Iberekodo. I am using this opportunity to appreciate past Iberekodo chiefs I met on the throne, they tutored, mentored and supported my visions despite my age then. They included Odofin Agbaro, Jagun Olaoye, Olukotun Nasiru Akinlabi, Olukosi Joseph M. Olanipekun, Ashipa Lawani, Sobaloju M.F Adeegbe (all late) and all their predecessors currently rulling with me, their wisdom and guidance has always been my watchway, I am honored to have them.”

“On my ascention to this throne as Baale Iberekodo 19 years ago, with the support of compounds in Iberekodo, we built blocks of classroom at the C.A.C primary school, we renewed Towobowo market to modern market, established Iberekodo High School. I will use this opportunity to thank Architect Sauban Obatade for the vision, Senator Soji Akanbi and Hon. Muraina Ajibola for donation of blocks of classrooms; the school celebrated 10 years last year, we thank God for the grace.”

“The idea of Palace construction came up when we realised the prestige of having a modern palace having travel far and near; late Chief M. F Adeegbe proposed the storey building palace. With the overwhelmed supports of well meaning individuals and Iberekodo community, we have been able to take the palace project to a reasonable stage. I am appealing to all Sons and Daughters of Iberekodo to rally round the completion of this palace project. We dedicated the Palace Chapel and Palace Mosque five years ago on my 50th birthday, by God’s grace and their support, I want Iberekodo to commision the Palace building come May 28th 2024 as part of my 20years on the throne and 5 years coronation anniversary. God will continue to protect you and nourish your undertakings”.

In a brief history of Iberekodo, Oluaso described “Iberekodo as a descendant of Oranmiyan who settled in Ekun otun according to History of Yorubas by Rev. Samuel Johnson. Idahomey war of 1890 dispatched us to Abeokuta, we returned and settled down here in 1900, our people who could not settle here went back to our initial homestead called Igbole while some are still at Iberekodo Abeokuta. Ayeleso was the first ruler here while I am by God’s grace the 9th traditional ruler.”

In the same vein, Personalities from Iberekodo has congratulated the Oluaso of Iberekodo, Oba Jamiu Adedamola Badmos on this 19 years on the throne and 4th years coronation anniversary. Speaking with Asako news, the former Oyo State Head of Service and Olori Omo Oba of Iberekodo, Prince Gboyega Laoye, congratulated the Oluaso on the anniversary, he described him as God sent ruler to Iberekodo land. He used the opportunity to call on well meaning individuals to rally round the monarch so that the palace is completed before the year runs out.

Justice S. A Akinteye (rtd), a fontline indigene of Iberekodo described the Oluaso as a vibrant ruler who have used his influence to develop the town in many ways; he called on indigenes of Iberekodo to rally round the monarch for the final completion of the modern palace.

A retired permanent secretary, Alhaji Saadu Adebayo in his goodwill message, congratulate the monarch on his achievements and prayed for the development of Iberekodo community under his rulership.

The Baba Ijo of Methodist Church, Towobowo and Iberekodo community leader, Chief Demola Eyinade (Elejire), also congratulate Oluaso. According to him ;”Oluaso is a Messiah sent, he has been doing this great things by himself, now I am appealing to well meaning Iberekodo indigenes to rally round him the full completion of the palace, we have capable individuals who can sponsor this projects”.

Also speaking in a separate interview with Asako news are Prince Badmos, Alhaji O M Abass, Olori Segilola Badmos, Jagun of Iberekodo, Balogun of Iberekodo, Odofin of Iberekodo; they all appreciated support of individuals, congratulate the monarch and urged all Iberekodo Sons and Daughters to rally round the monarch for full completion of the palace.
