Ganduje-Led Leadership, a Welcome Development – Tijani
An Ibarapa-based All Progressives Congress chieftain, Barrister Opeyemi Tijani, has hailed the change of guard of the national leadership of the party, which saw former Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and the former Senate spokesperson, Dr. Suraju Ajibola Basiru, emerge as the National Chairman and Secretary, respectively, describing their emergence as a needed and welcome development.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Dr. Umar Ganduje, our new National Chairman, and Dr. Suraju Ajibola Basiru, the new National Secretary of our esteemed party, the APC,” Tijani stated. “Their emergence marks a landmark moment in our party’s history. While the APC remains strong and vibrant, it is essential that we consolidate our gains and expand our reach by winning more seats and states. I am confident that under this new leadership, the party will continue to grow from strength to strength.”
Tijani further urged the new leadership to embody the principles of true progressivism by fostering internal democracy in the party. He believes that this approach will significantly contribute to unity among party members and aspirants.
“I am thrilled by our new leadership but would like to emphasize the importance of pursuing progressive principles that focus on internal democracy. This will not only help build a strong party at both state and national levels but also fortify our unity. Our party is the one to beat, and by strengthening our unity and closing our ranks, we will become even stronger,” he said.
The Chieftain also took the opportunity to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for overseeing a transparent and rancor-free process that led to the emergence of the national officers and urged the Party executives to emulate such a process in choosing competent and credible candidates in the future.
In conclusion, Tijani extended his congratulations to party members nationwide, recognizing them as the ultimate beneficiaries of this positive change in the party’s affairs. He expressed optimism that this new era would usher in continued success and growth for the APC.
