FORMER IFELOJU L.G.BOSS, DR. AGBOOLA ADEBAYO IS DEAD.

The death a former Chairman of the defunct Ifeloju local government (now Ibarapa Central and North local government), Alhaji (Dr) Agboola Adeagbo Adebayo has just been announced by the family. According to the family source, the former local government boss died this evening, Tuesday 12th September,. 2023 at his Lagos residence. He was aged 93.

was a retired Senior Lecturer of University of Lagos and former Chairman, Ifeloju Local Government (now Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Governments) between 1994 and 1996.

Dr Agboola Adebayo had been involved in activities related to the development of education in Igboora for a long span of time. He was the secretary of Igboora Literally Progressive Union (I.L.P.U) from 1949-1952.

He was a member of the (I.L.P.U) delegate to talk to the Baálés and Chiefs on the importance of establishing a Secondary School in Igboora. The delegates included; Late Alhaji R.A. Sadik, Dr Agboola Adebayo, late Pa Adam Ladipo, late Chief J.O Olugbile, late Alhaji (Chief) N.A Akinlabi, and late Pa Chief E. Ogungbe.

He was among the notable members of I.L.P.U who supported the proposal for the establishment of Igboora High School during the December 1960 meeting of the Union and had continued to promote its sustainability thereafter. Indeed members of the steering Committee for the establishment of the School reported that valuable support for the establishment of Igboora High School was received from him.
In his continued effort to sustain desirable high standard for Igboora High School, he accepted to serve twice as the Chairman, Board of Governors for Igboora High school 1968-1975 and 1989-2008 even when he had joined the busy College of Education, University of Lagos as a Lecturer in 1969. Besides, he became the Chairman, Igboora Progress union, Lagos branch (1979-1992); a notable organization that promoted sustainable development for Igboora High School.

He was made the Chairman, Ifeloju local Government (now separated as Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Governments). (1994-1996).

The remains of Deceased is expected to be buried at his Igboora residence tomorrow, Wednesday 13th September according to Islamic rites.
