According to a release from his official handle, registration for the exercise commences on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, with the deadline on Friday, August 18, 2023. Registration takes place at the chosen centre(s) in each communities of Igboora, Idere, Tapa, Ayete and Igangan between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., while lectures commence fully on Monday, August 21, 2023.

According to Ibarapa kan:

“Dear senior secondary school students in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, I congratulate you, your parents, and your teachers on the successful completion of your third-term academic session”.

“I genuinely admire your determination to pursue formal education in the face of numerous obstacles. Through the painstaking efforts of your teachers, private organisations, and collaborations among well-to-do individuals, we have been able to record some milestones in our standards of education in the constituency and the region at large. I specially commend our commitment to creating a region of intellectuals”.

“It is in the interest of these spirited efforts, coupled with the recently released WAEC results, which, by all indications, suggest necessary stakeholders’ urgent intervention in our educational sector, that my team and I resolved to come up with educational initiatives so as to improve our students’ academic performance in various internal and external examinations”.

“As a result of this, I am pleased to announce a free holiday lesson for senior secondary school students in the five towns that comprise the Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency (Igboora, Idere, Ayete, Tapa, and Igangan) to complement the Oyo State government’s efforts to revitalise standards of education in the federal constituency. This exercise will not only boost students’ academic performance but will also keep them from roaming the streets during the long break”.

“To fulfil the goal of this project, we are currently hiring the services of experienced, diligent, and best teachers in each of the five towns in the constituency to take the students in SS1 and SS2 on various subjects”.

“Efforts are also being made to avoid creating any kind of barrier for pupils travelling from distant locations in towns such as Igangan and Igboora. We have decided to create two centres in each of these towns, while Idere, Ayete, and Tapa will have one each”.

“This exercise will last four weeks, from Monday to Thursday. Every two weeks, there will be a combined session for the students in which leadership and governance will be taught by professionals with experience in the field in order to familiarise the students with government and administration and to help them become better and more responsible citizens”.

“All subjects in their syllabus will be taught through this exercise, and the best students after the exercise shall be rewarded handsomely”.

“Writing materials, such as exercise books and other things, shall be provided to make the exercise hitch-free for the students”.

“There will be external supervisors who will be visiting each of the centres throughout the period of four weeks in order to ensure the success of the exercise”.

“This initiative will equally lay the groundwork for the vocational training that will commence soon in the constituency”.

“Thank you for supporting this government”…..the law maker concluded.
