IBARAPA KAN PALLY OYSCATECH STUDENTS, DONATES VOLLEY BALL COURT

The Oyo state College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH) was filled with jubilant staff and students yesterday the 15th of February, 2023 as the PDP House of Representatives candidates for Ibarapa Central/ North Federal constituency, Dr. Adebayo Adepoju (Ibarapa Kan) delivered a powerful and inspiring keynote address titled “The role of students in the Nigerian Politics” Also the guest speaker was honoured with an award of recognition for his meritorious service to the community and Ibarapa Land, after the award presentation, Dr. Adepoju laid the foundation of a new basketball and volleyball court he gifted the campus to enhance sports in the institution. The epoch making event was done to commemorate the student union government week and call on all well meaning individuals to join hands with the government to improve the quality of education in our nation.

In his keynote address, he charged the students to get involved in politics as it is the only way to shape our nation through policy making. Ibarapa kan enjoined the students to be very aware of the ongoings in the nation and learn from the successes and pitfalls of past leaders. Ibarapa kan told the students not to be depressed with the state of the nation but see it as an opportunity that calls for critical thinking and out of the box solutions.

Furthermore, Dr. Adepoju advised to students not to be get involved in any act of violence or be used to truncate the wishes of the people during the forthcoming election. Ibarapa kan charged the students to ensure they turn out in their large number to vote for their preferred candidate without tarnishing the image of the institution.

Also, in his speech, Dr. Adepoju said “OYSCATECH is our pride and heritage, the entire Ibarapa people and I are proud of all the members of staff and students of the citadel of learning, we shall continue to do all in our power to ensure the success of the institution, thank you for doing your best for this school in promoting our rich culture in Ibarapa land, let’s continue to live in harmony for the good of our nation; Nigeria.” An award of honour was presented to Ibarapa kan by the Rector on behalf of the students. Dr. Adepoju thanked the rector and the entire college for finding him worthy of receiving yet another award from the college within one month, I am honoured and even more inspired to do more.

In his response, the student union government president, Comrade Oyekunle Oladokun thanked Ibarapa kan for honoring their request to participate in the activities of the students union week and for commencing the construction of the volleyball and Basketball courts on campus. Comrade Oladokun prayed for the fulfillment of the dreams of the guest speaker.

In attendance at the event were top government dignitaries including the deputy chief of staff to the Oyo state government; Otunba Ademola Ojo, the honourable member representing Ibarapa central and North state constituency; Hon Peter Gbadegesin Ojedokun, Former local government chairman; Alhaji Azeez Rufai, The PDP state executive member; Hon Saubana Oladokun, Hon Aderemi Ayoade, the OYSCATECH rector; Prof Akinlabi and the registrar of the institution. Others include the bursar, Librarian, Director of works and other directors and principal officers of the institution.
