IBARAPA NORTH PDP YOUTHS RESOLVE GRIEVANCE, AS BISI AKANDE FINALLY STEP DOWN FOR OJEDOKUN

Sequel to the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, H.E, Eng. Seyi Makinde to Ibarapa PDP leaders to resolve all the grievance sorrounding the consensus candidacy of the incumbent Honourable member representing Ibarapa North and Central State Constituency, Hon Peter Gbadegeshi Ojedokun; Youths within the party in Ibarapa on Monday, 16th May,2022 held a peace meeting with party leaders to finally resolve the crisis. The peace meeting was held at the Ibarapa North Local Government secretariat, Ayete.

It will be recalled that a related meeting held at the premises of the immediate past Chairman, Water corporation of Oyo State, Dr. Bayo Adepoju, on 18th April, 2022 was deadlocked, as Youths from Ibarapa North Local Government protested against the consensus candidacy of Hon. Ojedokun, on claim of his non- performance of the lawmaker.

Delivering the Governor’s appeal to the aggrieved youths, a leader of the party in Ibarapa North Local Government, Chief Solomon Ogunjimi, appealed to party faithfuls to be calm and accept the unreserved apologies of the law maker to move the party forward.

Responding on behalf of the Youths, Alh. Muniru Mustopha critisised party structure manipulation of Hon Peter Ojedokun in the local government, Ayete community in particular. He confidently challenged that the lawmaker has not contributed in anyway to the progress of the party.

Another Youth representative, named Olori Odo accused that Hon. Ojedokun did empowerment in Igangan and sidelined Ayete and other communities that mafe up the constituency.

Adeoti Nurudeen also alleged that Hon. Ojedokun did not perform up to expectation especially for not having a single capital project in the constituency.

Meanwhile, the unanimous choice of the Youths, Mr. Bisi Akande, has finally step down from the race to give way for Hon. Ojedokun as the consensus candidate of the party, PDP. Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Akande implored party faithfuls to bury their grievance and shed their personal issue. He maintained that party decision and objective is superior to individual motives.

Another leader of the party, Alhaji Akeem Kuso, in his own defence of the lawmaker, said single term representative can not have enough ground in the assembly house to bring adequate dividend of democracy, he argued that only returning Honourable can build capacity to bring enough dividend to the constituency. Kuso apologise to party faithfuls.

In his closing remarks, the immediate past Chairman Water corporation of Oyo State, , Dr. Adebayo Anthony Adepoju appreciated the efforts of party leaders for their unrelenting efforts. He finally apologise to the Youths of Ayete community and the constituency at large with an assurance that in the next one year, Hon. P G Ojedokun will make it up to the constituency.
