I Left APC to Support Makinde’s Visionary Govt – Ademola Ojo

The Deputy Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor and former Oyo State ALGON Chairman, Otunba Obafemi Ojo has revealed that he left the All Progressives Congress(APC) about four months ago to support Governor Seyi Makinde’s visionary government in Oyo State.

This is contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to Asako News on Monday, 19th January, 2022.

Ojo had reacted to his purported expulsion by the APC alongside two others, four months after he left the party.

The former Oyo ALGON boss had alleged the party of picking the current honourable representing Ibarapa Central and North federal constituency, Hon. Dr. Ajibola Muraina weeks after he joined the party without any primaries in the constituency.

He said that he willingly left the APC over four months ago, having realised the need to support Makinde’s unprecedented achievements in the state.

It will be recalled that the Oyo State APC led executive on Monday, 18th December, 2022, made official expulsion pronouncement of Otunba Obafemi Ojo, Eng. Segun Okanlawon and Saheed Oladele four months after their defection. According to Otunba Ojo, “such action had shown the APC is confused”.

“The announcement of my expulsion by the APC, months after I defected to the PDP, had shown the stuff they were made off. It showed the APC is confused,” he said.

He said that every relevant and reasonable politician had since joined the PDP which he described has undoubtedly the winning party in the state.

Ojo said that the Makinde administration in Oyo State has achieved unprecedented feat in all sectors of the economy, saying only enemies of progress would oppose his second term.

“I can confirm that APC is confused. Why is the APC just coming out to pronounce my expulsion, four months after I left the party and already working for Gov. Seyi Makinde as Deputy Chief of Staff?
