HON AJIBOLA MURAINA OFFICIALLY PRESENTED AS APC IBARAPA CENTRAL/ IBARAPA NORTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY CANDIDATE, AS HE LEADS 18,000 PDP MEMBERS INTO APC IN IBARAPA

A special meeting of the All Progressive Congress, APC faithfuls in Ibarapa Central/ Ibarapa North Federal Constituency held at Igangan Community Hall, Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government of Oyo State on Saturday July 2, 2022. The event began as a walk/rally of party faithfuls from their various wards before congregating en mass at the Igangan venue. In attendance were stakeholders of the party from the two local government areas making up the constituency, namely: Ibarapa Central Local Government and Ibarapa North Local Government as well as All Progressive Congress party stalwarts from the state executives, alongside thousands of party faithfuls and 18,000 members from the PDP in jubilant, carnival-like atmosphere.

The meeting which was called to officially present the candidates of the party for the forthcoming general elections next year, 2023 had in attendance Hon Dr Muraina Saubana Ajibola, the Member representing Ibarapa Central/ Ibarapa North Federal Constituency in the 9th House of Representatives and the APC party candidate for the same seat in the forthcoming 2023 general elections. Other candidates presented to the people are Barr Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the APC candidate for Oyo South Senatorial seat and Hon Soliu Lawal, the Ibarapa North/Central State Constituency candidate.

Others in attendance include Hon Isaac Omodewu, Oyo State APC Chairman; Alh Olaide Abass, Oyo State APC Vice Chairman; Alh Mojeed Olaoya, the APC Oyo South Senatorial Chairman, who handled the official presentation of candidates; Hon Francis Babalola, a former commissioner; Hon Chief Adenrele; Hon Gbemileke Olawoore, former Chairman Ibarapa Central Local Government; Chief Samuel Olawuwo; Alh Rasaq Gadabu; Alh Tajudeen Salaudeen; Hon Yemi Akinlabi; Hon Hussein Akinlabi; Hon Siji Olaode; Madam Toyin Afolabi; Madam Aminat Akintola; Hon Musibau Akinteye; Mr Nurudeen Lawal, as well as party chairmen, youth leaders, women leaders and secretaries of the party from Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North local governments.

Other dignitaries in attendance include Alh Abiola Azeez; Alh Ogundeji Ganiyu; Deacon Dayo Aborode; Alh Olakunle Sunmonu; Francis Niyi Babalola; Pa Ogundele Julius JP; Alhaji Alawiye; Prince Ojelere; Ogundeji Ganiyu; Salawu Olokin; Hon M. O. Gbenro; Ogundeji Hassan; Alh Raji Rasaq; Chief A. A. Adenrele; R. O. Ogunfemi; Alh Isiaka Adeoye; Hon Sola Makinde; Hon M. O. Ogungbenro; Mr Adeagbo Taofeek; Bashiru Kareem; R. A. Olowonmi; Benel Sunday; Pa Oketayo; Adewuyi Olabode; Evang Orisabukola Sunday; Yeye Adetona Moji and Hon Lawal Rabiu.

In a statement released to newsmen by Olubunmi Sodipo, his media aide, Hon Muraina thanked God for making the day a reality. He also thanked the party stalwarts and stakeholders who graced the occasion. He assured the teeming party faithfuls that he will not relent in giving his best efforts to ensure that the good people of Ibarapa Central/ Ibarapa North Federal Constituency continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy. In his words, “Dividends of democracy is an integral part of governance which must not be compromised by any political leader. This is the principle by which I have been operating and with God’s help, I will continue to do all that I can to ensure that our people do not lack the developmental dividends of democracy”

The federal lawmaker who led the PDP members to APC said he has records of 18,000 people who followed him from the PDP to the APC, while appealing to APC members not to leave the party for those who have come to join them. He also used the opportunity to unfold his next plans in his quest to continue with the progressive representation of his constituents.

Many party stalwarts spoke glowingly of Hon Muraina’s sterling leadership qualities, as they assured him of their support in his aspiration to serve his people.
