COURT ARRAIGNED IBARAPA CENTRAL COUNCIL BOSS, ADEOYE ADEDOYIN, SEVEN OTHERS

An Oyo State Magistrate Court seated in Igboora has arraigned the Council Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon Adeoye Adedoyin with seven others on a three count charges of murder attempt, breach of peace and breaking down of law and order.

 

They were arraigned on Friday 14th January, 2022 at the Magistrate Court.

 

The suspects who appeared before the Chief Magistrate with the Counsel to the State Commissioner of Police, Council Chairman, Adeoye Adedoyin, Mr Jamiu Azeez ( A notorious thug popularly known as Sego), Mr Olaniyan Fatai (a.k.a Abusi), Mr Olanrele kolawole (a.k.a. Great mother), Mr Akinlolu Gbade, Mr Rotimi Gbadebo ( Ibarapa Central Park Manager Chairman), Alh Taju Oyeyemi (a.k a were), and Mr Isiaka Jimoh ( a.k.a That Man).

 

According to the suit filed against them, they conspired to mobilize one notorious thug, Sego and his gangs to invade and destabilized the PDP general meeting which was held on Thursday 23rd December 2021 at Methodist Primary School, Oke Agogo Igboora.

 

The suspects were said to have attacked Ward 6 Chairman, Idofin Sagan-un, Mr Nurudeen Oladeji and another party member Mr Taye Rafiu who were severely marchetted beyond recognition.

 

According to a source who pleaded anonymity, Sego is known across Ibarapa as a notorious thug and he has been running nefarious errands for the paraded suspects for a long time. He has also been extorting money from the people mostly motorists under the cover of stickers payment for waste management by the Oyo state Government. Sego is well known for high degrees of countless atrocities, he added.

 

Another source that also pleaded anonymity said, “as at the time when those thugs started the crisis, the leg of a forty old days baby was broken. They pushed the mother of the baby in the cause of the crisis and that was how the leg broke. The baby had since been operated thrice and still in the hospital as we speak”.

 

The Chief Magistrate accused them of murder attempt, breach of peace and breaking down of law and order which the Commissioner of Police is fully aware and connected with the case.

 

The suspects therefore pleaded not guilty on the three count charges.

 

The Chief Magistrate ordered the suspects to be remanded in prison custody pending the date of the next hearing of the suit. The counsel to the defendants pleaded on their behalf for a bail grant and the request was granted.

 

Each of the arraigned suspects were fined a sum of three hundred thousand naira (N300,000), to produce two sureties who must be active level 16 officer of the government and each surety will pay the sum of fifty thousand naira (N50,000).

 

The bail conditions are expected to be met on or before the date of the next hearing fixed for February 23, 2022.
