2022 WORLD TWINS FESTIVAL; A MERE PDP POLITICAL CAMPAIGN

It is no longer news that every second Saturday of October has been fixed as the grand finale of world twins festival in Igboora since it’s inception in 2018.

As the yearly celebration continues in Igboora community, residents have lamented that the exercise had become boring, unattractive, wasteful and economically affecting them because people will just gathered under hot sun every year with no tangible development coming from it. The worst part of it all is that upon all the sacrifice of our traditional leaders and Igboora community foundation towards the success of the program, a twin brothers from another town will just come overnight and claim the glory of the program every year, it was affirmed by the organizers of the event during the program today before the general public that without Taiwo and Kehinde Oguntoye, the programme won’t have come to reality. Without vituperation, that is a total slap on the face of our leaders for someone to claim their glory openly in their midst.

Another most embarrassing thing was that Igboora twins festival that has been in existence for long without political affiliation suddenly turned out to be PDP mega rally forgetting the purpose of the festival to the extent that the organizers refused to recognize the presence of the lawmaker representing the consistuency at the green chamber because he’s not a member of the ruling party in the state. Thousands of residents gather under hot sun just to celebrate the usual yearly festival but they are busy chanting GSM 4+4 throughout the program because of the political office holders that has systematically hijacked the event.

It is highly lugubrious that the speaker of the state assembly who earlier told our correspondent at the venue that he’s busy to grant interview to Ibarapa media house was running after Governor Seyi Makinde convoy upon noticing his arrival at the venue, that singular gesture from the state assembly speaker speaks volume of him.
