INSECURITIES: IDERE HILLS SET TO REOPEN ON SEPTEMBER 1ST

The Idere hills, the most visited tourism site in Nigeria in year 2020 will be officially reopen to the public on September 1st more than seven months after shuttering down as a result of insecurities facing the host community, its operators said on Monday.

The tourism site is to reopen to visitors on Wednesday for the first time in eight months following the restoration of peace in the Axis.

The coordinator, Mr Sunday Omotayo Olugbenga on Monday confirmed to our correspondent their readiness for the safe reopening of Idere hills in Ibarapa land.

He stressed that this will allow the community to restart its economy and help local tourism workers regain their jobs.

Official reopening of Idere hills will serve as an indication to the world that Ibarapa who has once been the stronghold of killer herdsmen, kidnappers and assailants in the late 2020 and earlier this year has returned back to the land of peace that is known for, he added.

While thanking those who contributed to how peace was returned to the land, he equally confirmed some important Personalties that has communicated their presence on Idere hills for the official ceremony including the famous twins in Africa tourism Taiwo and Kehinde Oguntoye, Queen Omolabake the winner of the maiden edition of miss Ibarapa beauty contest, Queen Abiodun miss culture Ibarapa among others.
