EMINENT PERSONALITIES CONVERGE AT IGBOORA FOR OWOTUTU 7 DAYS FIDAU PRAYER

Eminent personalities from all walks of life, on Saturday converged at Igboora, Oyo State for the 7 day fidau prayer in honour of the late business mogul and most employer of Ibarapa peoples during his lifetime, Alh. Fasasi Akano Adesope Owotutu.

The dignitaries, which included traditional rulers, politicians and top-notch business tycoon extolled the virtues of Adesope, saying he left indelible footprints in the creation of modern Ibarapa.

Speaking during the program, Alh. Ibrahim said Some are born great, some have greatness trusted to them and some achieve greatness. For my loving father was born great and he achieved greatness both in life and in death. He struggle within his capacities to make me what I am today. He encouraged me to have sound education. I meant so much to me while he was alive, I am grateful for the discipline, dedication, hard work and perseverance he brought to bear in my life. My father serve God and humanity. He never left me in moment of quagmire, what a painful loss. My Daddy his a legend, an icon and a philanthropist.

Another member of the community leaders told our reporters that we’ll miss Alh. Owotutu wisdom in Islamic and community affairs.

“He had a grasp understanding of conflict resolution, he had reconciliatory efforts whenever conflicts arise especially among the Islamic adherents in Igboora.

Earlier, while delivering a sermon at the venue of the program, Methodist Grammar School in Igboora, a Muslim cleric, Dr Saludeen Munirdeen Arriyady tasked individuals to leave a good legacy.

He stated; We are here purposely because of Late Alh Fasasi Adesope because he did his best in terms of service to humanity when he was alive. With the memories of him, it seems as if he still live amidst us. Everyone should struggle to leave a positive impression about themselves not because of today, but because of tomorrow and future.”

Describing Owotutu as an epitome of kindness and service, Ar-riyadih said “he (Owotutu) had left good legacies behind. We should all try to do our best so that people can have a good memory of our deeds on earth.”

At the firdau prayers were surviving wifes of late business tycoon, sons and other members of Owotutu family.

Other dignitaries at the program include the Olu of Igboora, HRM Oba Jimoh Titiloye, Oluaso of Iberekodo, HRM Oba Jamiu Badmus, The Asawo of Ayete, Hon. Jimoh Akingbade former member representing Ibarapa central and north state constituency amongst other.
