ASIGANGAN OF IGANGAN BURIED ACCORDING TO ISLAMIC RITES

Asako Reporters had earlier reported that the 78-year-old Lasisi, the 19th Asigangan of Igangan, joined his ancestors in the early hours of Tuesday.

The remains of the late Oba Lasisi Adeoye, the Asigangan of Igangan, was burried on Wednesday in the palace, according to Islamic rites.

The Chief Imam of Igangan, who led other Muslim clerics, conducted the prayer around 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Asako Reporters recalls that the 78-year-old monarch, who is the 19th Asigangan of Igangan who was the longest serving Asigangan of Igangan on throne, joined his ancestors in the early hours of Tuesday.

Among some of the dignitaries that paid condolence visit during the fidau prayer to the palace on Wednesday were Sola Ayandele, Oyo South senatorial hopeful, former local government chairmen in Ibarapa Ademola Ojo, Ibrahim Abeeb and Biyi Okediran.

Others included Alh. O.M. Abass, Salaudeen Fatai etc.

Kabiyesi is survived by wives, children, grandchildren.

Meanwhile, eminent personalities including Oyo State Governor, Speaker, traditional rulers have continued to send in their condolence messages as well as visit the palace since the news of the death of the monarch gain public attention.
