ADESEUN OGUNDOYIN POLYTECHNIC GOVERNING COUNCIL REVERSE DECISION AS OYO SPEAKER INTERVENE

The Governing Council of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa has reversed the appointment of Dr. Akinteye O. Adewuyi as the new Acting Rector, while approving tenure elongation of the incumbent Mr. Peter Adejumo.

According to a reliable source close to the school, this decision was made after a long intervention meeting Chaired by the Oyo Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin on Tuesday night.

The sudden dissolution of the school’s current management and the appointment of a new team to lead the Institution which was announced on Friday by the Chairman Governing Council, Professor Samuel Ogundiran had generated protest among the host community (Eruwa) especially the youths demanding explanations for unruly sacked of their Son as the Acting Rector.

Ogundiran had earlier said “the appointment of new Acting Rector is in accordance with the Conditions of Service for Nigeria Polytechnics as contained in National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Chapter Ten Cap (e)” that acting appointment shall be for a period of six months in the first instance and could be reviewed for another final period of six months.

“I am delighted to inform you that the Governing Council of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa at its meeting held yesterday 10th September 2021 appointed Acting Rector, Bursar and Head of Works for the Institution.

“The appointment of Dr. Akinteye O. Adewuyi as the Acting Rector, Oladipo S. Abimbola as the Acting Bursar and Abeegunde O. Olatunde as the Acting Head of Works took immediate effect, while the incumbent acting Rector, Mr. Peter Adejumo’s tenure ended on 10th September 2021.”

The protest and other burning agitations however made the Speaker, Ogundoyin to intervene. All the concern stakeholders in the school, community elders, youth leaders were part of the meeting and Adejumo was given another chance.
